Governor Walz recently announced the implementation of Phase III under Minnesota’s Stay Safe Plan, which will be effective Wednesday, June 10th, 2020.

Some of the highlights include:
1. Limited indoor dining for restaurants;
2. Increased capacity at restaurants, bars, salons, tattoo shops and barbershops;
3. Up to 25 people can now gather outdoors, with 10 still the limit indoors;
4. Gyms and fitness centers are being allowed to open for the first time since their closure, at 25% capacity;

The following business may operate at up to 50% capacity
– Retail,
– Restaurants,
– Bars,
– Hair and Nail Salons,
– Barbershops,
– Places of Worship,
– Pools;

Certain businesses may operate at up to 25% capacity
– Gyms and Fitness Centers,
– Yoga Studios,
– Martial Art Studios,
– Movie Theaters,
– Bowling Alleys,
– Arcades,
– Museums,
– Indoor Entertainment Venues,
– Outdoor Entertainment Venues,
– Sporting Events,
– Concerts;

Some additional information to be aware of:

Restaurants and Bars:  Restaurants and bars must continue to allow for 6 feet of distance between people. Reservations are also required while masks are required for workers and strongly recommended for customers. Occupancy of any indoor space must not exceed 50 percent of the normal occupant capacity as determined by the fire marshal, with a maximum of 250 people in a single self contained space whether indoor or outdoor.

Gymnasiums, fitness centers, recreation centers, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, indoor climbing facilities, trampoline parks indoor and outdoor exercise facilities, and exercise studios: may open to the general public only in accordance with industry guidance available on the Stay Safe Minnesota website.

Venues providing indoor events, entertainment, or recreation such as theaters, cinemas, concert halls, museums, performance venues, stadiums, arcades, and bowling alleys: may open to the general public only in accordance with industry guidance available on the Stay Safe Minnesota website.

Venues (including racetracks) providing outdoor events, entertainment, or recreation, paintball, go-karts, mini-golf, and amusement parks: may open to the general public only in accordance with industry guidance available on the Stay Safe Minnesota website.

Weddings, funerals, and services: Places of worship, funeral homes,
and other venues that offer gathering space for weddings, funerals, or
planned services such as worship, rituals, prayer meetings, or scripture
studies, may host such weddings, funerals, or services must not exceed 50 percent of the normal occupant capacity as determined by the fire
marshal in indoor settings, with a maximum of 250 people in a single self contained space. In outdoor settings, gatherings must not exceed 250 individuals.

Some things remain the same:
1. Facial coverings are strongly recommended;
2. Non-critical businesses need to have a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan;
3. People are asked to social distance and maintain 6 feet from others; and
4. You must telework if you are able.
